PATEO Signs Physical AI MoU With Arm as Its AI Revenue Jumps 589%
PATEO, the Hong Kong-listed Chinese automotive supplier, has signed a strategic memorandum of understanding with Arm to work on physical AI for cars. The two signed in Shanghai on September 22.
PATEO calls itself a Tier 1 supplier with “software, hardware, chip and cloud” capabilities. Its core business is intelligent cockpits and connected-car systems for Chinese automakers. Arm designs the processor architecture inside most automotive chips.
What they’ll work on
The MoU covers next-generation AI workloads in the vehicle, meaning systems that perceive and interact rather than just respond. The listed areas include multimodal perception, integrating the cockpit with driving systems, real-time interaction, and autonomous AI agents inside the car. That goes well beyond today’s voice assistants and navigation.
“Open ecosystem collaboration is essential to accelerating the commercialization and adoption of physical AI technologies,” says PATEO vice president Liang Chen.
The numbers behind it
PATEO’s AI business is growing fast. AI-related revenue reached about RMB 209 million in the first half of 2026, up 588.6% year on year. The company says that shows AI in the cockpit moving from proof of concept to real deployment.
Why Arm cares
Physical AI (models that understand and act in the physical world) is the new frontier in cars and robots. Arm wants its compute platforms to be the default there, as they already are in phones and most automotive chips. Chinese carmakers move faster than anyone on in-cabin features, so partnering with a busy Chinese cockpit supplier puts Arm close to where those features appear first.
For PATEO, the Arm tie-up adds credibility as it pitches carmakers on AI agents that ride along with the driver.
