Nvidia reported $96.2 billion of revenue for the second quarter of fiscal 2027, up 106 percent year over year and 18 percent sequentially, with data center at $89.0 billion and gross margin holding at 75.0 percent on both a GAAP and non-GAAP basis. The third-quarter guide landed at $108.0 billion against roughly $104 billion of consensus. None of that is the disclosure worth reading twice. The number that carries information is $279 billion, the company’s supply obligations, against the $145 billion figure disclosed three months earlier.

Moonshot AI closed a $3.5 billion round at a $35 billion valuation, having initially targeted somewhere between $1 billion and $2 billion, and plans a Hong Kong listing as early as this year. CXMT’s IPO prospectus disclosed that Alibaba holds a stake of nearly 5%, now worth more than $20 billion, against a closing market capitalization of roughly $464 billion on July 28. One model developer and one DRAM manufacturer, heading for the same venue, at valuations set almost entirely by domestic capital.

Samsung reported second-quarter revenue of roughly $118.1 billion, up 130% year over year and a shade under the $118.9 billion consensus, alongside operating profit of about $61.46 billion, up 1,814% against a $60.68 billion estimate. Revenue missed. Profit did not. The distance between those two facts is the entire memory cycle compressed into a single print: sales slightly more than doubled while operating income went up eighteen-fold, which is only arithmetically possible when the incremental bit sells at a price the cost base was never built to justify.
